(Note) All DTDT committee members who possess one of the aforementioned jobs are responsible for personally interviewing, either by phone or in person, all of the "new recruits" to explain just what DTDT is all about. Each new recruit, as well as current DTDT members, will be issued a copy of the DTDT Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations list, so that each and every member knows what is expected of him.
Does anyone on this list NOT wish to be considered as
a committee member? If so, contact me ASAP so someone can step in and
act as an honorary committee member.
Committee members are held in the
highest regard and are solely responsible for all of the DTDT
business at hand including; voting on issues; recruiting; organization of
all DTDT matters;Etc. DTDT is moving into a new phase of operation
that will ultimately include more input and action by committed committee
members. I say committed because as a committee member you will be
responsible for all current and future DTDT events. You will be
responsible for the job you choose to do and be held accountable for that
job. As the organization grows, so does the responsibility. If we
are to continue to grow and be successful we must act as a team to make DTDT the
first name in sports vacation fun. We are still in the infant stages
of growth, but the future is bright. There are plans to be able
to "give back" to committee members for there work done within the DTDT
organization (i.e., salaries and/or discounts).
It is getting increasingly difficult for me
to perform all of the DTDT business which insures us a great time at all of our
DTDT events. That is why I'm appealing to you, the committee members,
for help in planning our trips. You may do this by officially signing up
for one of the posted DTDT Jobs (list attached). Once you
have accepted the terms of this job (listed in the job descriptions) you
will then be expected to perform that job to the best of your ability and in a
timely fashion, as it is very important with the planning of our events.
The NFL schedule is due in April, which means we
will be selecting a game to go to. We already know the city (Atlanta,
Georgia), we just need a date once the schedule comes out. Also, once the
schedule comes out, we must already have the money in hand to purchase the game
day tickets. This means the deposit for this years DTDT event
is NOW DUE and will be posted in the soon to follow DTDT newsletter
to all of the current DTDT members.
This year the Deposit will be
$300.00. This increase is necessary so we will be able to meet any and all
of the upcoming DTDT expenses, which include; (game day ticket, T-shirt,
tailgate party, mandatory meet and greet party, salaries and/or
discounts to committee members, emergency expenses, ground transportation,
etc. As we learned from our Miami 2006 trip, extra money is needed up front
so that no one ever has to come out of pocket for any "unexpected"
expenses. I'm sure, if you are like me, you like to budget your trips, and
are frustrated when you have to come "out of pocket" for added "unexpected"
expenses. Collecting the extra money worked very well in San Diego last
year, with the exception of some "unforeseen circumstances."
In closing I want to reiterate the
importance of you, the committee members, joining in on the planning side of our
events by signing up for one of the DTDT jobs posted. Together,
with your help, we can make this Atlanta trip and all of our future trips
and activities better, more fun, and more trouble free than all of those
preceding them. Please respond to this appeal ASAP either via e-mail,
phone, or in person.
Thank You All
Sincerely,
Richard Curry
